Lovely to meet you.
Hi I’m Peta, and I live in Helsinki.
The first thing you’ll notice about me is a thousand watt smile, followed by an angry mob of curls residing atop an optimistic mind. In spite of, or because of this passersby, especially small children usually have a question or two and in return I happily oblige. With this bright-eyed bushy tail enthusiasm, I visited Finland a decade ago, and enjoyed it so much, I moved here a few years later. These days I find myself wearing many hats as cheerleader, confidante, nurturer, wife, mother, décompresser, academician, curator, chef, and my personal favourite inspirer.
The next thing you’ll notice is that I’m a design enthusiast. It’s always been this way, although it has taken some time to articulate these sentiments. I appreciate details, and crave experiences that are stunning yet purposeful. This is perhaps the greatest gift that being in Finland has given to me, finding the space to create my voice. One, which I hope you’ll find interesting, inspiring and deliberate, all the qualities I look for in any surroundings. It is with this frame of mind that I started the little curator.
Inspired by my experiences as a newly minted mum; sometimes witty, other times downright unbelievable, my aim is to create a resource that focuses on enjoyment and wellness for parents with young children in the Nordics. This may be in the form of restaurant commendations, storage solutions, or rainy day activity lists. Each recommendation I’ve hand picked and tested myself, except for a small few, which are reviewed by trusted mavens. Stay, while I methodically comb through old favourites and new trends, with a pinch of advice ever so often.
Call it my way of paying it forward, sharing these beautiful findings and experiences for seasoned parents, and perhaps parents to be. I hope you enjoy the little curator, and don’t be shy to send a line or two!
Feeling chatty? Let’s tête-à-tête.
