First started in 2010, Skidit Festarit has quietly acquired favourites who visit the festival every year. And it’s easy to see why. The ambience is relaxed, the space is intimate without feeling crowded, and the activities are plentiful – there’s something to do for even the smallest patron. Touted as ‘an urban festival in children’s culture’, this event is designed for families with young children. On the menu this year, little ones were treated to mocktails, face painting, miniature toy car racing, graffiti and painting workshops, beginners’ parkour, skateboarding tutorials, toddler hobbyhorse, as well as street and show dance courtesy of Step Up school. After sampling your preferred activities – take note there is a schedule for the more rigorous ones – you can head to the popular Skidit family dance disco, or enjoy a breather with live music from Puluboi ja Poni, which roughly translates to Pigeon Boy and Pony.

Come early though, as the event lasts only a few hours, starting at 10:00 and ending at 15:00. But that’s all the time you’ll need anyhow. After sampling all the activities, and making new friends, your little ones will feel satisfied with a day well spent, and home will be a welcomed journey’s end.

Tips & Perks

Street Parking

Price – affordable various ticket options are available. Single person 13.50€ or Family tickets 42€. Kids under 3 years or adults over 65 years enter free.

Atmosphere – kid-friendly, relaxed. Initially referred to as The Festival, Skidit introduced an entrance fee in 2015 to reduce the intense congestion that plagued the event in past years. Today, the event is lively, open, and comfortably inhabited by old friends and friends-to-be with their little ones.

Restroom access – limited amenities available for babies or small children.

Age appropriate from 0 years

Stroller access – generous the main entrance is a tunnel wide enough for large cars to pass through, although driving in is prohibited. There is however ample space for strollers of any size. Immediately right of the entrance is a large space designated for this purpose. This is especially convenient if you need your hands free and your little ones are awake and ready to play.
